The second quarter saw a shift in momentum. NNU struggled offensively, posting a game-low 12 points, while the Red Leafs capitalized with 24 points of their own. However, thanks to steady defense and eight rebounds, the Nighthawks managed to hold onto their lead, heading into halftime up 43-40.

Coming out of the break, NNU reestablished control. The team shot 10-for-19 from the field and 4-for-6 from three-point range in the third quarter.
