ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer and Central Washington were scoreless over the first 82 minutes on Thursday night, but the Wildcats scored in the 83
rd to take a 1-0 victory.
NNU falls to 5-10-2 and 4-7-2 in GNAC play. Also, by virtue of Seattle Pacific's win over MSUB earlier on Thursday, the Nighthawks were eliminated from GNAC postseason contention.
The teams managed just 15 total shots in the match, with NNU having eight and CWU seven. The Nighthawks put four each also putting three of those on target.
In the 83
rd minute, it was CWU's Casey Park that stepped up to a free kick just outside the box and floated it just over the NNU wall and under the crossbar for the game-winner.
NNU had a shot attempt and corner kick in the final seconds, but CWU's defense held for the win.
The Nighthawks will close out the 2025 campaign on Saturday at Simon Fraser, set for a 1:00 p.m. Pacific start time in Burnaby.
