PUEBLO, Colo. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer held No. 2 Colorado State-Pueblo scoreless for the opening 35 minutes, but the Thunderwolves eventually overpowered the Nighthawks for a final score of 2-0.
NNU falls to 0-1-1 in the new season after posting a draw against Jessup in the season opener on Thursday.
The defending National Runner-Up in Division II, Pueblo's first goal came in the 37
th minute, with less than 10 minutes to go until halftime. Their second tally came shortly after the break, pulling ahead 2-0 in the 53
rd minute.
The Thunderwolves put the pressure on NNU all match, outpacing the Nighthawks 17-2 in shots and 7-1 in shots on target.
The Nighthawks will remain on the road next week, visiting Salt Lake City to play Colorado Mesa on Thursday and Westminster on Saturday.
