TWIN FALLS, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene cross country opened the season on a high note at the College of Southern Idaho Invitational on Friday morning, with the Nighthawks' men winning the team title and the women placing fourth.
The men totaled 29 points, eking out the narrowest of victories over College of Idaho's 30 points. NNU had five runners finish in the top 10 individually in the 7K race, led by
Brody Kemble in third at 21:52.7.
Following Kemble was
Ian Stockett in fourth at 22:03.2,
Grady Mylander fifth at 22:17.9,
Asher Ingram eighth at 22:27.6, and
Carter Stedman ninth at 22:30.0.
Morgan Erler was the women's top finisher, placing sixth in the 5K race with a time of 18:36.8.
Paige Trautman was next in 20
th at 19:42.7.
Mckenna Lechner (24
th), Olivia Klein (30
th), and
Keelin Stewart (32
nd) completed the Nighthawks' top five.
Next up for NNU is a trip to Colfax, Washington next Friday, Sept. 13
