DUPONT, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene men's golf made an impressive showing at the Bishop Invitational across Thursday and Friday, placing seventh out of 18 teams among a tough field of competition.
The Nighthawks finished at +6 as a team, one stroke ahead of Chico State and four back of a tie for fifth between Simon Fraser and North Idaho College. All five GNAC squads were at the tournament, with NNU defeating the other three as Saint Martin's tied for 10th, Western Washington finished 13th, and Montana State Billings was 16th.
Ben Mulder continued his red-hot start to the season, tying for second just days after earning his first collegiate individual win at the True North Classic. He shot four-under for the event, with a two-under 70 in both the first and second rounds and an even-par 72 in the final round.Â
Kasey Gaff was next in a tie for 22nd, shooting a +1 217.
Gavin Rodeghiero was just two strokes back at a +3 219, tying for 31st.
Dylan Christensen tied for 40th at +6 and
Luke Schufreider rounded out the team at +13.
NNU will take a couple of weeks off before heading to Hawaii for a pair of tournaments, first the Dennis Rose Invitational on Oct. 21-22 and then the HPU Sharks Shootout on Oct. 25-26.
