DUPONT, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene women's golf took to the links for the first time in the 2024-25 season on Friday and Saturday, tying for fifth at the Grisham Memorial Shootout hosted by Saint Martin's.
Thanks to strong starts by
Brianna Shervik and
Caroline Caven in round one on Friday, the Nighthawks were in second place heading into today's final round. NNU finished tied with Western Washington at 609 after the two rounds, just seven behind Saint Martin's and eight behind UBC Okanagon and George Fox.
Shervik finished in a tie for 10th to lead the Nighthawks with a two-round score of 150 (+6).
Christine Cho was next, just one stroke back in a tie for 15th at +7.Â
Tora Jo Timinsky improved her first-round score by three strokes to finish at +9 in a tie for 21st. Caven tied for 30th, while
Avery Paul rounded out the competitors for the Nighthawks in 62nd.
NNU has a short turnaround before their next invite, heading across the border for the True North Classic hosted by Simon Fraser on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24.
