CALDWELL, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer took the field for competition for the first time in 2024, heading down the road to College of Idaho for an exhibition match.
The Yotes, who had already played two games before tonight's contest, came out strong with two goals in the first 10 minutes and rode that momentum to a 4-1 win.
NNU's goal came in the second half, with
Jonathan Cardona scoring off an assist from
Jim Wagenaar at the 64
th minute that cut the deficit in half to 2-1.
C of I answered just two minutes later, however, and added another insurance tally in the 75
th minute en route to the victory.
Cardona and
Austin Carmack registered multiple shots with two apiece.
The Nighthawks return to Nampa this Saturday for another exhibition match, kicking off their home slate against NAIA-member Carroll College at 1:30 p.m.
