Women's Track & Field Garners 4 Academic All-District Selections

| By:
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2024 Academic All-District Teams for women's track & field on Tuesday, with four Northwest Nazarene student-athletes earning the honor.

Laine DeJong, Jordan Eldridge, Alejandra Gomez, and Emily Powers each received the recognition.

This is the second Academic All-District honor for DeJong, who compiled a 3.93 GPA in Nursing over her NNU career.

The other three student-athletes earn the honor for the first time. Eldridge has registered a 3.77 GPA in Pre-Physical Therapy, Gomez a 3.99 GPA in Graphic Design, and Powers a 3.94 GPA in Pre-Physical Therapy.

The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To earn recognition for the spring sports, student-athletes be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic eligibility and must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above in their collegiate careers. For track & field, they must be in the top 50 in the region in a single event to be considered for All-District recognition. More information on criteria can be found here.
