Erler races to new record
Azusa, Calif.Â
- Just one month after winning the 10,000m (35:33.26) at the Linfield Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker Invitational, Nighthawk junior
Morgan Erler shattered her own school record in the event with a new personal best mark (35:08.29) at the prestigious Bryan Clay Invitational hosted at Azusa Pacific University. Erler adds the 10k record to her current school record at 5,000m (16:53.52) and further cements her legacy as one of the greatest Nighthawk distance runners of all time.
Erler's strong performance kicks off what promises to be an action-packed weekend for NNU track & field. Later today, senior Brody Kemble will race the men's invitational 10k at the Bryan Clay meet against an elite field. At the nearby Mt. Sac relays javelin throwers Maddie Gebers and Laurenz Wilbauer will look to continue their successful season against some of the best throwers in the nation. On Friday senior Grady Mylander and junior Ian Stockett will race the men's 5,000m at the Bryan Clay.
The rest of the Nighthawks travel to Portland, OR for the Larry Byerly Invitational as Lewis & Clark college.
