The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2024 Academic All-District Teams for softball on Tuesday, with four Northwest Nazarene student-athletes earning the honor.
Sidney Booth,
Gina Skinner,
Abigail Gagnon, and
Clarissa Moreno each received the recognition. Booth was also selected as a finalist for Academic All-America honors, the results of which will be released in a few weeks.
This is Booth's third fourth time earning Academic All-District honors as she has garnered the accolade in each year she was eligible. Named an All-American athletically last week following West Region and GNAC Pitcher of the Year honors, the senior also sports a 3.87 GPA in Pre-Physical Therapy.
Skinner was a First Team All-GNAC and Second Team All-Region honoree and compiled a 3.85 GPA in Biology. Gagnon compiled a 3.79 GPA in Criminal Justice and was named Second Team All-GNAC this season. Moreno holds a 3.55 GPA in Marketing and was also named Second Team All-GNAC this year.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To earn recognition for the spring sports, student-athletes be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic eligibility, must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above in their collegiate careers, as well as either play in 90% of their team's games or start in 66% of the team's contests during the 2024 season. For baseball and softball pitchers, it is 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched. More information on criteria can be foundÂ
