LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA)Â released their 2024 NCAA Division II Softball All-Americans this week, with Northwest Nazarene's
Sidney Booth adding more prestigious honors to her storied career.
Booth earned Second Team honors at the Utility/Pitcher position from the NFCA and a Third Team recognition at the same position for the D2CCA, solidifying the senior as one of the best two-way players in the nation.
This is the second time in Booth's career that she has received All-American honors from the both organizations, also notching the same awards in 2021. She is one of just four players in NNU softball history to be named an All-American, and the only one to do so multiple times.
Booth had another remarkable season to cap her historic career at NNU, earning GNAC Pitcher of the Year honors for the third time and All-Region honors for the third season while helping lead the Nighthawks to their fourth-straight GNAC Regular Season Championship and a program-record 41 wins. NNU fought their way to the two-seed in the West Region, hosting the opening rounds of the West Regional for the first time in program history.
The Puyallup, Washington native appeared among the national leaders in multiple pitching categories this season, ranking sixth across Division II with 11 shutouts, ninth with 25 wins, 13th with 4.65 hits allowed per seven innings, 15th with a 1.26 ERA, 30th with 199 strikeouts, 32nd with a 0.97 WHIP, and 36th with 20 complete games. She also was a constant threat in the batting order, recording 44 hits, six doubles, four homers, 32 RBIs, and 21 walks while hitting .280 on the year.
She finishes her career as the GNAC all-time strikeouts leader with 802 (246 ahead of second-place), and the Northwest Nazarene career record holder in strikeouts per seven innings, opposing batting average, wins, saves, complete games, and shutouts. At the plate, she also ranks second all-time in NNU history in RBIs, second in walks, third in home runs, fourth in hits, sixth in runs scored, and eighth in doubles.Â
Booth is the only representative from the West Region on either the NFCA First or Second All-America Teams. Cortney Koelmans from Concordia and Teagon Seaton from Montana State Billings are the only other West Region representatives to be recognized, both with Honorable Mention honors.
