Booth, Mulligan, Skinner Earn All-Region Selections

| By:
NAMPA, Idaho - The NFCA and the D2CCA have both released their 2024 All-Region Teams for Division II Softball, with Northwest Nazarene's Sidney Booth, Emma Mulligan, and Gina Skinner each picking up honors.

On the NFCA side, Booth was named First Team All-Region in the Utility/Pitcher position and Mulligan Second Team All-Region at second base. For D2CCA, Booth was again first team, as well as earning Pitcher of the Year honors. Mulligan earned another second team recognition, while Skinner received a second team nod.

Booth had another remarkable season to cap her historic career at NNU, earning GNAC Pitcher of the Year honors for the third time and helping lead the Nighthawks to their fourth-straight GNAC Regular Season Championship and a program-record 41 wins. Across the West Region as of May 13, Booth was first in strikeouts, first in hits allowed per seven innings, first in shutouts, tied for first in wins, second in ERA, second in complete games, and second in strikeouts per seven innings. At the plate, she also hit .280 with 44 hits, six doubles, four home runs, 32 RBIs, and 21 walks.

Mulligan anchored the leadoff spot in NNU's lineup this season as well as playing an outstanding second base on the field. She led the Nighthawks with a .339 batting average, 16 doubles, 19 stolen bases, and a .528 slugging percentage, while also ranking second in home runs and on-base percentage. Her doubles mark is tied for second across the West Region and steals total is tied for sixth.

Skinner had a breakout year in the circle, taking over one of the starting spots for the Nighthawks and excelling in the opportunity. She is eighth in the region with a 1.65 ERA, sixth with a 1.05 WHIP, and fifth with just 0.98 walks allowed per seven innings. She tallied a season record of 14-3 across 24 appearances and 15 starts, tossing eight complete games and three shutouts while recording 44 strikeouts.

The Nighthawks were one of seven programs to have multiple players on the NFCA West Region teams and one of just four teams to have at least three representatives on the D2CCA West Region squad.
