NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene men's basketball had little trouble taking care of Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, never trailing and leading by double digits for most of the game in a 70-52 victory.

The Nighthawks improve to 13-8 overall on the season and 9-4 in GNAC play.

NNU started strong, jumping out to a 16-8 lead on a
Nathan Perez triple after six minutes of action.

The Nighthawks lead hit double digits at the 8:32 mark when
Christian Rose made a layup to put NNU up 24-14. NNU poured it on over the final four minutes of the first half, going on a 15-5 run to head into the break up by 20 at 48-28.

NNU led by as many as 22 early in the second half and would keep the margin greater than 13 for the remainder of the game. A
Dylan Engler triple with 31 seconds left capped the contest, giving NNU the 70-52 win.

Ryzin Bergersen led the Nighthawks with 13 points, three assists, and three steals.
Tru Allen and
Gabriel Murphy each had 12 points, with Murphy adding seven rebounds and Allen three steals.

Christian Rose was also in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.

NNU will have a week before their next game, hosting Central Washington next Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the Johnson Sports Center.
