BILLINGS, Mont. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell 79-57 to the MSU Billings Yellowjackets who are currently ranked 17
th nationally on Thursday night.
The Nighthawks are now 8-9 overall and 5-5 in the GNAC.
The Yellowjackets opened the game red hot with a 12-0 run, shooting 4-8 from the field and 3-5 from three. The Nighthawks went on a dominant stretch, outscoring MSUB 23-12 after the opening run by the Yellowjackets. The Nighthawks trailed by as much as 13 points in the first half but rallied back to come within one point at 24-23 in the second quarter. MSUB responded with a 10-3 run and held a 34-26 lead over NNU at halftime.
After some back and forth scoring to start the second half, MSUB went on a 10-0 run to gain an 18-point lead at 51-33. The Yellowjackets secured the game out scoring the Nighthawks 24-20 in the final quarter with the help of five three-point buckets.
The leading scorer for the Nighthawks was
Hilary James with 14 points.
Cami Knishka led the team in assists with four.
