Nighthawks Unable to Overcome Yellowjackets

BILLINGS, Mont. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell 79-57 to the MSU Billings Yellowjackets who are currently ranked 17th nationally on Thursday night.
 
The Nighthawks are now 8-9 overall and 5-5 in the GNAC.
 
The Yellowjackets opened the game red hot with a 12-0 run, shooting 4-8 from the field and 3-5 from three. The Nighthawks went on a dominant stretch, outscoring MSUB 23-12 after the opening run by the Yellowjackets. The Nighthawks trailed by as much as 13 points in the first half but rallied back to come within one point at 24-23 in the second quarter. MSUB responded with a 10-3 run and held a 34-26 lead over NNU at halftime.
 
After some back and forth scoring to start the second half, MSUB went on a 10-0 run to gain an 18-point lead at 51-33. The Yellowjackets secured the game out scoring the Nighthawks 24-20 in the final quarter with the help of five three-point buckets.
 
The leading scorer for the Nighthawks was Hilary James with 14 points. Cami Knishka led the team in assists with four.
 
The women's next game is Saturday, February 3rd against Seattle Pacific.
