NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazerene women's soccer faced off against Saint Martin's University, getting the 2-1 victory at home.
The scoring started early in the 4th minute, when
Savanna Herz scored a header goal off of an assist from
Ellie Ritter.
In the 6th minute,
Ellie Ritter scored on a second chance attempt, putting the Nighthawks up 2-0.
Saint Martin's did not want to go away without a fight however, in the 16th minute a hand ball in the box was called against NNU. The foul call allowed Hinata Kojima to score on the penalty kick, putting the score at 2-1, where it would stay for the rest of the game.Â
NNU was led by
Savanna Herz with 7 shots, and
Ellie Ritter had a great stat line as she ended with a goal and an assist.
The Nighthawks will look to finish the season strong as they are on the road against Western Oregon this Saturday at 6:00 PM PT.
