Nighthawks Play Beavers in Division Crossover

CORVALLIS, Oregon – NNU Women's Basketball played against the Oregon State Beavers yesterday in a fun division crossover game. With a run in the second half the Beavers were able to pull out the win, with a score of 80-52. 

In the first quarter of the game the Nighthawks brought intensity to the floor and stayed neck in neck with the Beavers. Going 4 for 7 from the three point line NNU stayed within reach of the opponents. The quarter ended with a score of 22-13, in favor of the Beavers. As the Nighthawks took the court in the second they continued to rely on their outside shooters, not finding much luck inside against the height of the Beavers. Going 6-13 from the floor, NNU found themselves in a very competitive position going into halftime down by 4 to the Beavers. 


As the third quarter got underway the momentum stayed with the Beavers and NNU began to fall behind. The Nighthawks shot 16.67% from the floor compared to the Beavers 57.89%. The quarter ended with a score of 63 to 38 as Oregon State increased their lead by 25 points. In the final quarter of the game the Beavers ran away with it. Using their height and defensive aggressiveness to their favor. To end the game the Nighthawks fell, 52-80, to the Oregon State Beavers. 


Chloe Deharo and Shawnacee Davis led the Nighthawks with 10 points a piece. Kendall Clark recorded 6 rebounds and Beaux Bruegman had 5.


The Nighthawks will head to Westmont, California later this week to compete against the Warriors on Friday. The tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. pacific time in Murchison Gymnasium.
