SEATTLE – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer got an early goal against Seattle Pacific on Saturday, but couldn't hang on to the lead as they settled for a 1-1 draw with the Falcons.
NNU moves to 3-2-2 in GNAC play and 4-6-3 overall.
The Nighthawks' tally came in the 30
th minute, when
Alex Barragan sent a ball into the box from the right side that was flicked on by
Austin Carmack, right to the feet of
Raoul Barragan for the strike into the top left corner of the net.
SPU countered with the equalizer in the 56
th minute, however, and the 1-1 deadlock stood the rest of the way.
Gerardo Fonte had four saves across 90 minutes in goal.
Caleb Putney led the team in shots with three.
NNU is back in Nampa next Thursday, hosting Western Washington at 4:00 p.m. on NNU Soccer Field.
