NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene men's basketball stifled Simon Fraser on Thursday night, defeating the Red Leafs 69-51.

The Nighthawks improve to 9-7 overall on the season and 5-3 in GNAC play.

NNU started hot, racing out to a 14-4 lead after a
Tru Allen and-one at the 15:38 mark. Simon Fraser cut the lead back down to single digits for the next seven minutes, but a
Gabriel Murphy bucket at the 8:21 mark pushed the Nighthawks back up by 10, 28-18.

The lead continued to grow from there, with a
Ryzin Bergersen triple making it a 16-point advantage, 41-26, with 2:42 remaining in the opening half. Simon Fraser would score the last four points of the half, though, cutting the deficit to 41-30 at the break.

NNU bounced back to open the second half and never looked back, growing their lead to as much as 25 in the second half at 65-40 with 6:27 left.

Simon Fraser was able to get a few points back in garbage time as the Nighthawks took the 19-point victory at 69-51.

Three Nighthawks were in double figures, led by 15 from Biggie Bergersen.
Tru Allen added 13 points, five assists, and four steals, while Gabe Murphy had a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Aaron Murphy was also in double digits in rebounding with 10.
