BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell to the Western Washington Vikings 88-60 on Saturday night.
The Nighthawks are now 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the GNAC.
Western Washington started strong, outscoring Northwest Nazarene 26-6 in the first quarter. The Nighthawks competed well in the second quarter, putting 19 points on the board. NNU made eight of 14 shots, one of which was a three-pointer from
Madeline Gebers.
Both the Nighthawks and the Vikings scored 20 points in the third quarter. Gebers made two more three-point shots and
Beaux Bruegman added one. NNU went 5-5 from the free-throw line and made six of 13 from the field. The Vikings outscored The Nighthawks 21-15 to seal the deal in the final quarter.
Gebers led the Nighthawks with 18 points in her 20 minutes of playing time despite not starting.
The women's next game is at home on January 18
th against Alaska Fairbanks. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Mountain Time.
