DUPONT, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene women's golf began their fall season on a high note, placing second at the Saint Martin's Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The Nighthawks shot 598 (+22) as a team, just one stroke behind the leader to place second in the 11-team tournament.
Madison Gridley led the Nighthawks this weekend, shooting 77 in round one and 71 in round two for a 148 (+4) overall, tying for fifth place in the tournament.
Paige Vancil also shot a 71 in her second round, bringing her total to 151. Paige had the second-best score on the team and tied for 14
th.
Christine Cho tied for 18
th at 152 strokes.
Elle McCord took 28
th at 155 and
Brianna Shervik tied for 49
th as an individual at 168.
Tora Jo Timinsky shot an NNU freshman record of 72 in her first round of the tournament. She rounded out the scoring for NNU with a 170.
The Nighthawks next competition is on October 16
th and 17
th when Vanguard hosts at the Oak Valley Golf Club in Oak Valley California.
