CALDWELL, Idaho -
Brody Kemble took first in the men's race as both the Northwest Nazarene men's and women's teams placed third at the CCC Preview meet in Caldwell on Friday morning.
Hosted by College of Idaho, the meet was made up of mostly programs from the Cascade Collegiate Conference as well as the Boise State running club.
Kemble led from start to finish of the men's 6k race, nearly finishing 20 seconds faster than the second-place competitor with a time of 18:25.50.
Ian Stockett was next for NNU, placing 11th at 19:10.80.
Quincy Ellis (17th, 19:30.80),
Asher Ingram (18th, 19:31.10), and
Carter Stedman (19th, 19:34.80) rounded out the scoring five for the Nighthawks.
Micah Chi,
Aaron Heberlein,
Connor Robbins, and
Jonah Rau also competed for NNU in the meet. The Nighthawks finished third out of the five complete teams that were there with 57 points.
On the women' side, the Nighthawks took third out of four complete teams with 75 points.
Morgan Erler led the way in the 4k race with a sixth-place finish in 14:37.00.
Casey Collom and
Olivia Klein finished back-to-back in 15th and 16th with times of 15:21.10 and 15:24.40.
Rebecca Darwood placed 19th in 15:35.00 and
Jordan Gram was 21st in 15:35.20 to round out the scoring five for the Nighthawks.
Mckenna Lechner,
Keelin Stewart, and
Joan Woods also competed in the race.
Next up for the Nighthawks is the Whitman Invitational in a couple of weeks, traveling up to Walla Walla for 6k and 8k races on Sept. 30.
