WAIPAHU, Hawaii – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer emerged victorious in their season opener, defeating Hawaii Pacific on the road 1-0.
It did not take long for NNU to put the only goal of the game on the scoreboard, as
Madison Grande tallied in the 12
th minute off an assist from
Nicole Lewis.
That was where the score would remain for the rest of the game, despite the Nighthawks outshooting the Sharks 9-3 (4-1 on goal).
Grande,
Savanna Herz, and
Alejandra Jaramillo all recorded two shots in the contest, while
Bailey Blancett went all 90 minutes in goal with one save for the shutout.
The Nighthawks will play two more games on their Hawaii trip, taking on Chaminade on Saturday and Hawaii Hilo on Tuesday.
