Nighthawks Handled by Wildcats

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell 85-60 to Central Washington on Saturday night.
 
The Nighthawks are now 11-13 overall and 7-9 in GNAC play.
 
How it Happened
 
The Nighthawks began the game with a strong showing in the 1st quarter. As a team, NNU shot just over 47% from the field to the Wildcats 31%. At the end of the 1st, the Nighthawks held a 19-12 lead.
 
NNU led by as much as 13 points in the 2nd quarter. CWU erased that deficit and ended up taking a 38-35 by halftime.
 
In the second half, the Wildcats shot 70% from beyond the arc and 70% from the field en route to the 85-60 final.

  • Clare Eubanks and Lydia Nieto led the Nighthawks with 10 points each
  • NNU shot 81.3% from the free-throw line
  • NNU had 24 bench points to CWU's 19

The Nighthawks home schedule has concluded. They will head Monmouth to face Western Oregon on Thursday, followed by a road matchup against Saint Martin's on Saturday.
