Nighthawks Best Nanooks at Home

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball defeated Alaska Fairbanks at home on Saturday night by a score of 79-72.
 
The Nighthawks are now 11-12 overall and 7-8 in GNAC play.
 
How it Happened
 
The Nighthawks had 11 steals in the 1st quarter to help them edge a 20-15 lead over the Nanooks. Four of those 1st quarter steals belonged to Emma Clark.
 
UAF went on a 12-0 run in the 3rd quarter that began at the 6:56 mark. The Nanooks shot 6-6 from the field and gained a 40-39 lead as a result. Despite the run, the Nighthawks came back to lead 54-48 at the end of the 3rd quarter thanks to shooting 100% from the free-throw line and Danika Starr closing out the quarter with five points of her own.
 
Clare Eubanks alone had the first nine points for the Nighthawks in the final quarter of the game. Her standout performance helped the Nighthawks to their 79-72 finish.

  • Eubanks led the Nighthawks in scoring for the second game in a row with 21 points
  • Starr led all players in rebounds with nine
