MONMOUTH, Ore. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell to Western Oregon 78-74 during their game on Saturday night.
The Nighthawks are now 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the GNAC.
The Wolves outscored the Nighthawks 21-17 in the first quarter. NNU shot 7-13 from the field, making two of five three-point shots. Western Oregon continued with a slight edge over the Nighthawks in the second quarter.
Kate Clark hit back-to-back three-pointers with 3:11 left in the first quarter to give the Nighthawks a momentary lead at 32-31. The Wolves answered with six points to gain a 37-32 lead at the half.
Action started to heat up in the fourth quarter when the Nighthawks went on a 12-2 run, bringing the score to 57-55, slightly in favor of the Wolves. Western Oregon answered with a 10-0 run of their own lasting from 5:45 to 3:56. They controlled a small lead for the remainder of the contest.
Five different Nighthawks scored double digit points.
Shawnacee Davis led with 16 points.
Beaux Bruegman once again led the team in rebounds, this time with five.
The women's next game is at home on Tuesday, December 19
th when they face off against Lincoln.
