LACEY, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer's season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, not getting the victory they needed to qualify for the GNAC postseason with a 0-0 draw against Western Oregon.

The Nighthawks finish the season at 6-5-7 overall and 4-5-5 in GNAC play.

NNU held the advantage in opportunities at 16-12 in shots and 7-5 in shots on goal, but none of the Nighthawks' attempts would find the back of the net.

NNU needed a win to reach the GNAC Championships as they were three points back of Western Oregon at third and two back of Simon Fraser at fourth entering the match. A victory over WOU would have solidified it, as NNU would have held the tiebreaker over the Wolves in that case.

With the draw, though, NNU will miss the GNAC postseason for the first time since 2019.

However, they did not go down without a fight, winning two games earlier this week against Montana State Billings and Saint Martin's to put themselves in a position to potentially grab a playoff spot this afternoon.

Prior to the game, the Nighthawks also honored their nine seniors on the 2023 squad:
Yacine Bitibale,
Kate Bleffert,
Alejandra Jaramillo,
Matisyn Ohlson,
Allison Wolf,
Madison Grande,
Kailyn LaBrosse,
Carolyn Moravec, and
Makayla Roggow.
