IRVINE, Calif. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell 92-76 to Concordia University Irvine in their final game of the CUI Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday.
The Nighthawks and the Golden Eagles played a tight first quarter in which there were five lead changes. NNU shot 4-5 from the three-point line and
Emma Clark started with an early six points. CUI went on a 12-3 run to open the second quarter and held that lead for the remainder of the game.
Four different Nighthawks had double-digit points,
Emma Clark led NNU with 19 points and was followed by her sister
Kendall Clark who had 15 points.
Shawnacee Davis and
Madeline Gebers were the other two Nighthawks to notch double-digit scoring.
Both NNU and CUI had 13 fast break points. The Nighthawks had the edge on points scored in the paint and bench points, outscoring the Golden Eagles 38-30 and 35-20 respectively.
The women's next game is on the road in Lacey, Washington when they take on Saint Martin's.
