HAYWARD, Calif. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball fell 69-62 in their game against Cal State East Bay on Saturday.
Cal State East Bay opened the scoring with three early points, after that NNU went on a 16-2 run that took up a majority of the first quarter. In the run, the Nighthawks shot 7-11 from the field, including two three-point buckets.
The Nighthawks went on to outscore CSEB, 20-9 in the first quarter, and 24-14 in the second. In the first half, NNU shot just under 55% from the field, and 50% from beyond the arc.
Cal State East Bay outscored NNU 46-18 in the second half to win 69-62.
Madeline Gebers led the scoring for the Nighthawks with 17 points.
Shawnacee Davis was just behind her with 15 points. NNU scored 38 of their points in the paint.
The women's next game is at home against Cal Poly Humboldt on Monday, November 13
th.
