Nighthawks Come Up Short in Overtime

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene women's basketball came up just short after a back-and-forth battle with Central Washington. The final score was 79-77 in favor of the Wildcats after overtime.
 
The Nighthawks are now 8-9 overall and 4-5 in GNAC play.
 
How it Happened
 
The Nighthawks opened the game with a 10-4 run to control the lead for the first quarter.
 
There were 3 lead changes in the beginning of the 2nd quarter. The Wildcats went on a 10-2 run to finish out the first half and held the lead at 35-26.
 
Back-and-forth scoring in the 3rd quarter led to the Nighthawks trailing by 10 going into the 4th quarter.
 
To begin the 4th quarter, Danika Starr made a jumper, and McKenna Castledine got a steal and a hit a deep ball. The Nighthawks trailed closely for almost the entire quarter. With time dwindling away, and NNU down by three, Castledine hit another deep ball to send the game to overtime.
 
In overtime, the Nighthawks came up just short with a final score of 79-77
