PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the first conference players of the week following the season-opening weekend, with Northwest Nazarene's
Jimmy Koufidakis receiving the Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Koufidakis scored a goal in each of NNU's two matches in a 1-0-1 start for the Nighthawks.
He opened the season by scoring in the eighth minute of Thursday's 2-2 tie at Cal Poly Humboldt. Koufidakis then opened the scoring again in the ninth minute in the Nighthawks' 2-1 victory at Cal State East Bay.
Koufidakis and the Nighthawks will travel to Billings, Montana this weekend for a pair of neutral-site contests, facing UC Colorado Springs on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and Colorado State Pueblo on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
