NEW ORLEANS - The United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released their end-of-the-year honors for the 2021-22 track and field season.

Northwest Nazarene earned the team honor for both the men's and women's programs, while six athletes received the individual accolade - Steven Schmidt, Tyler Shea, Laurenz Waldbauer, Julie Cheney, Miya Koch, and Kinsey Yenor.

To qualify for the honor of USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

For All-Academic Athletes, the individual must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition, as well as having achieved an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.

The NNU men's program made the cut with a 3.13 cumulative GPA, while the women tied for the eighth-best cumulative GPA in Division II with a 3.65.

Schmidt earned his qualifying marks in the indoor high jump, outdoor high jump and outdoor heptathlon. Shea had a qualifying time in the outdoor 5000m run, while Waldbauer entered the outdoor championships with the top qualifying mark in the javelin.

Cheney and Yenor both qualified in the outdoor pole vault and Koch rounded out the qualifiers in the outdoor high jump.
