PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) released the standings for the 2021-22 GNAC Academic All-Sports Championship, with Northwest Nazarene Athletics finishing in second place for the second year in a row.

The Nighthawks tallied 141 total points, while Central Washington took the top spot with 155. Saint Martin's (132), Seattle Pacific (124), and Western Oregon (98) rounded out the top five.

When divided by gender, NNU placed third on both the men's and women's sides. 

Team-wise, men's soccer and women's track & field both held the top spot in their respective sports. Men's golf, women's cross country, and softball each took second, while women's golf finished third.

Ninety-four of the conference's teams, accounting for 84.7 percent of the GNAC's total programs, compiled GPAs of 3.0 or higher. NNU was one of four universities that saw all of their programs finish with GPAs over 3.0, joining Central Washington, Saint Martin's, and Seattle Pacific.

The conference also saw five sports end the year with all of its teams compiling a 3.0 GPA or greater: men's cross country, men's golf, women's rowing, women's track and field and women's volleyball.

The Academic All-Sports standings are based on the cumulative grade point averages of all of the student-athletes on the official team rosters, including redshirts. Points are awarded in two-point increments.
