LACEY, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer came from behind to defeat Saint Martin's 3-1 while on the road Thursday.
How it Happened
The Saints were able to get on the board in the 28
th minute of the game for the first score of the contest. Although not scoring in the first half, the Nighthawks were able to keep pressure on the Saints with five shots.
NNU knotted the game at one a piece in the 51
st minute when
Lukas Juodkunaitis put a ball in the back of the net on an assist from
Alan Soto Ortiz.
Just five minutes following NNU's first goal,
Jonathan Cardona was able to give the Nighthawks the lead 2-1. Cardona's goal came from Soto Ortiz, giving him his second assist of the match.
In the 76
th minute of the match,
Jake Levine scored his sixth goal of the season on a header from Cardona's corner kick.
The Nighthawks held on to their 3-1 lead for the remainder of the game. NNU improves to 11-3-2 overall and 7-2-1 in GNAC play.

- Levine's goal was the 29th of his career, giving him sole possession of first place for career goals and career points (74) in NNU's DII history
- Levine passed Fredy Razo for career goals and Alex Mangeac for career points
- Both teams took 11 shots, but the Nighthawks had 7 on target while the Saints had 3
- The Nighthawks can advance to the NCAA postseason by getting first place in the GNAC or by moving into the top 10 in the regional rankings, where they currently reside at 11th
