NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer defeated Western Oregon 3-1 at home on Thursday night.
How it Happened
The Nighthawks went on the attack early and scored first with a goal from
Jimmy Koufidakis. Koufidakis' goal came on an assist from
Alan Soto Ortiz to give the Nighthawks a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute of the match.
The Wolves were able to knot the game at 1-1 at the end of the first half.
In the 51
st minute, Koufidakis delivered his second goal of the night, giving the Nighthawks a 2-1 edge over the Wolves. This time Koufidakis was assisted by
Jonathan Cardona.
Sullivan Smith was able to provide the Nighthawks with some insurance in the 79
th minute when he scored a goal on a header that was assisted by
Raoul Barragan.
