The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released their latest national rankings on Wednesday, with Northwest Nazarene baseball checking in at No. 8 in the country. NNU also slots in 20th in the Collegiate Baseball News DII rankings.
This is the 10th-straight week that NNU has been ranked in the NCBWA Top 25, and the fifth-straight poll in the Top 10.
Western Oregon has entered the NCBWA poll at 24th as the only other GNAC program appearing in either rankings. Azusa Pacific is the only other team from the West Region in the polls, slotting in 18th in the NCBWA poll and 16th for Collegiate Baseball.
NNU has been on a tear all season, holding a 29-7 record that includes an 18-6 rout of now-No. 1 Colorado Mesa at the beginning of the season and a remarkable 21-3 record in GNAC play, resulting in clinching the GNAC Regular Season Championship earlier this week. NNU will now enter next weekend's GNAC Championships, hosted here in Nampa, as the top seed.
The Nighthawks are also first in the NCBWA West Region poll for the fifth-straight week, taking three of the five first-place votes.
