FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After yesterday's five-set thriller, Northwest Nazarene women's volleyball could not muster any momentum against Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, falling 3-0.
NNU kept all three sets close, but just could not come out on top. The first set went past the regular 25 points, with the Nanooks eventually taking a 26-24 win. Set two also went long, with UAF eking out a 29-27 win. The third set was back-and-forth until the final moments, when Alaska Fairbanks earned five of the last six points to take the set and the match.
Last night, NNU was able to take the Nanooks to five sets, but could not grab that third and winning set.
Natalie Sullivan tallied nine kills on the day to lead the Nighthawks, followed by Taylor Markland with eight kills and three blocks.
Casey Kispert led the team with 19 assists, while
Caroline McMahon had 19 digs and two aces.
NNU will remain on the road for their next two matches, traveling to Colorado Christian for a pair of contests on March 30 and 31.
