SEATTLE – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer faced a tall task on the road Thursday against No. 8 Seattle Pacific, falling 2-0 to the Falcons.
How It Happened
- SPU got on the board first, scoring in the 25th minute to put the Falcons up 1-0.
- The home team doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, converting a penalty kick.
- The Nighthawks would not quit, finally finding the back of the net in the 80th minute as Ethan Atterberry struck a loose ball in the box for his first goal in a Nighthawks uniform.
- NNU tried to find a late equalizer, taking five shot attempts in the final minutes, but could not even it as SPU held on for the win.
Nighthawks Notes
- NNU took more shots (12-9) and put more on frame (5-3), but could not convert more than the one late tally.
- Sawyer Price played all 90 minutes in goal with one save.
- With the late goal, NNU kept their goal-scoring streak alive with tallies in seven straight games.
