NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer coach
Adam Pearce announced the hiring of
Adam Miller to be the program's assistant coach and the head men's club coach recently.
Miller graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2018 with a degree in history and a minor in secondary education. He coached at Arizona Christian University the last three years.
"I am thrilled that we were able to bring Coach Miller to NNU," Pearce said. "With his background of playing goalkeeper in college and in the PDL/NPSL, he brings great credibility and experience to our already extremely talented group of goalkeepers."
After graduating from Mount Vernon, Miller played semi-professionally for the Cincinnati Dutch Lions and Lansing United.
"I came to NNU because I wanted to continue to challenge myself coaching at a high level," Miller said. "I've had a good relationship with Coach Pearce for a few years now and I was very excited when the opportunity came."
Miller was a part of the 2018 GSAC Tournament Champions. He has a video analysis certificate from TheVideoAnalyst.com, as well as opposition scouting analysis and evidence based coaching certificates from CoachTech Soccer and an USSF E License.
"In addition to leading our goalkeepers, Coach Miller will contribute to all facets of the program including recruiting, player development, camps, scouting, video analysis and analytics," Pearce said. "He is very ambitious to learn, pursue challenging tasks and is a vibrant and motivated learner, which has resulted in him already being a very respected coach among college coaching circles."
The Nighthawks are coming off of a 7-11 season, including 3-9 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The Nighthawks graduated just two seniors and after a year under Pearce's system hope to improve on the field this fall.
"First and foremost, I want to help the student-athletes develop as a person – both as a student and an athlete," Miller said. "I hope to help create an experience that the student-athletes will remember and enjoy, which of course means winning a lot of games along the way."
Miller replaces Raul Barillas.
