NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene men's soccer program added transfer Ethan Atterberry from Folsom Lake Community College in California.

Atterberry, a sophomore midfielder, had four goals and seven assists in his most recent season for Folsom. He will be available to play this spring for the Nighthawks, whose fall season was postponed.

"I chose NNU because the coaches, staff and school faculty made me feel welcomed," he said. "The team culture is one of winning on the field and motivating each other during practice, as well as the environment to grow as a person off the field."

The 5-foot-7, 150-pounder earned all-state academic team and scholar athlete honors. He also spent a redshirt year at NCAA Division I UC Davis before heading to Folsom.

"We are excited to have a young man with such great character and a great family join Nighthawks men's soccer," NNU coach Adam Pearce said. "Ethan brings a great deal of experience with him from his time at UC Davis as well as Folsom Lake Community College. In addition to this, Ethan had a decorated youth career as a member of several well-known development academies.

"He has been a captain of nearly every team he has been a part of and brings natural leadership qualities with him to NNU and will continue to add to the quality of leadership and commitment that we have in the program."
