SEASIDE, Calif. – The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team defeated Holy Names 2-0 on Saturday to win its first game of the season.
Brooke Felzien had a goal and an assist,
McKenzie Buell had a goal and
Alexis Montoya had three saves in goal for the Nighthawks (1-1).
"We moved the ball well and created a lot of opportunities," NNU coach
Mary Trigg said. "Our defense was composed and kept possession well for us. Our depth showed today. It was a great team win."
Felzien set up Buell's goal in the 39th minute. Felzien added her own goal in the 86th minute to ice the game.
NNU (1-1) lost 1-0 on Thursday in its season opener against Cal State Monterey Bay.
