TURLOCK, Calif. – The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team was swept by Stanislaus State 25-19, 25-10, 25-12 on Thursday at the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase hosted by Stanislaus.
The Nighthawks (2-3) struggled throughout the match hitting under .100 as a team and committing 15 attack errors.
"The execution wasn't what we wanted, but I thought we tried and played hard," NNU coach
Doug English said. "We hit more balls out then we have and the passing was average. Stanislaus played really good and were into and made some really nice plays. They played like it was their biggest match of the weekend and maybe it was.
"We had good energy and average volleyball."
Abbey Blum and
Brooke Foster each had six kills, while
Megan Nelson had 20 assists and
Kayla Sale 13 digs.
NNU defeated Sonoma State in five sets earlier in the day. The Nighthawks face Notre Dame de Namur at 3:30 p.m. MDT on Friday.
