NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene men's basketball team picked up another Treasure Valley transfer Monday.

Centennial High graduate Delveion Jackson is transferring from NCAA Division I UC Davis to NNU.

"Del brings a high level of athleticism, versatility, basketball IQ and skill to the NNU men's basketball family," NNU coach Paul Rush said. "His ability to defend and rebound multiple positions, combined with his vision, passing and scoring ability on the offensive end provides NNU with an impact player for the next three years.

"Del is an excellent student and a tremendous young man with a big heart and an incredible future in front of him in both basketball and beyond."

Jackson, a 6-foot-7, 224-pound combination guard, did not play last year and has three years of eligibility for the Nighthawks. As a freshman at UC Davis, he played in 18 games averaging 1.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 11.4 minutes per game.

"I chose NNU because the sense of care that the coaching staff displays for their players as people first then as athletes," Jackson said. "I also chose NNU because of the extraordinary support of the community throughout the university and the state of Idaho."

Jackson was born in Riverside, Calif., but grew up in Boise. He is a communications major and is looking to switch to psychology at NNU.

Jackson is the sixth player to join the Nighthawks' 2019-20 recruiting class, joining point guards Ezekiel Alley and Kobe Terashima, shooting guards Tim TenKley and Brody Steinhart and forward Christian Rose.
