BILLINGS, Mont. – The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team lost 2-1 on Thursday against Montana State Billings in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match.
Maddy Parton scored in the 62nd minute after a turnover by the Billings goalie to give NNU a 1-0 lead.
An own goal in the 74th tied the game and then Billings took the lead for good less than two minutes later on a goal by Julia Keller.
"We moved the ball well, but we didn't get dangerous enough," NNU coach
Mary Trigg said. "The own goal caused some frantic play and we didn't get the result we wanted. We're playing some good soccer, now we just need to reward ourselves."
NNU (5-3-1 overall, 1-3-0 GNAC) will look to end its three-game losing streak at 4 p.m. MDT on Saturday at Seattle Pacific.
The Nighthawks outshot the Yellowjackets (4-4-1, 1-3-0) 11-5 with each team recording two shots on goal. Parton's goal was her fifth of the season.
