MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team put together a dominating offensive performance Saturday to defeat Western Oregon in four sets.
The Nighthawks (2-11 overall, 2-4 GNAC) knocked off the Wolves 25-16, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference match.
"We had a great offensive night," NNU coach
Doug English said. "Cami (Heninger) and Abbey (Blum) were really efficient with the volume of sets they got."
Blum had 19 kills with just three errors and a .390 attacking percentage while Heninger had 17 kills with just three errors and a .452 attacking percentage. As a team, the Nighthawks had a .329 attacking percentage while the Wolves (5-8, 2-4) were at .184.
"It is great when we have three athletes get 10 kills and have four athletes hit over .300," English said. "When that happens, that means our setters and passers had a great match.
"We also did a great job of taking of free balls and back row attacks and turning them into points."
The loss ends a three-match conference losing streak. NNU hosts Seattle Pacific at 7 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Sports Center.
Tayler Markland had 10 kills, no errors and hit .588 percent from the middle, while
Brooke Foster added seven kills. Heninger added 21 digs, while libero
Shayli Siegfreid had 27.
Megan Nelson had 34 assists and
