Nighthawks remain undefeated heading into break

NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team rolled to an easy 103-68 victory against Whitworth on Tuesday in their final game of 2018.

Erin Jenkins had a career-high 18 points, while Carly Parker had a career-high 17 points, shooing 8-of-10 from the field.

The Nighthawks (10-0 overall) are one of just 11 unbeaten Division II teams in the country.

"We had seven people in double figures, so that was a really good thing," NNU coach Steve Steele said. "We gave up too many points in the third quarter, so we have to watch the film and figure that out. It was fun how we competed and shared the ball."

NNU shot 55.6 percent (40-of-72) from the field as everyone who played scored for the Nighthawks.

Marina Valles added 14 points and six assists, Raquel Jardine had 12 points and seven rebounds, Ellie Logan had 10 points and six assists, and Avery Albrecht and Danielle Jardine added 10 points each.

NNU will take the rest of 2018 off for the mandatory NCAA holiday break. The Nighthawks are back in action on Thursday, Jan. 3 at Concordia and Saturday, Jan. 5 at Western Oregon.

Camy Aquinaldo scored a game-high 20 points to lead the NCAA Division III Pirates.
