Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – Three Northwest Nazarene players scored in double figures and Sam Roth had some key plays down the stretch as the men's basketball team defeated Cal State San Marcos 77-62 at Concordia University.

Roth hit a 3-pointer to give the Nighthawks a 68-59 lead and then drew a charge on the defensive end on the next possession with 3:25 left. Adalberto Diaz then hit a 3-pointer and a layup for a 73-61 lead.

"The biggest thing was for the second game in a row, we came out of halftime and held them under 30 points," NNU coach Paul Rush said. "That was big for us to play that way."

NNU held College of Idaho to less than 30 points in the second half during an exhibition game Tuesday, before doing so again Friday.

Adonis Arms scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Jayden Bezzant had 16 points. Diaz added 12 and James Nelson had nine for NNU (2-0 overall)
Roth finished with five points and five rebounds.

"Offensively, we were being patient as they ran a bunch of different looks at us," Rush said. "And defensively, we played solid."

The Nighthawks are back in action at 3 p.m. PST on Saturday against Cal State Los Angeles at Concordia.
