NNU women's soccer wins second in a row

| By:
Box Score LACEY, Wash. – The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team won its second consecutive match Saturday defeating Saint Martin's 2-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference action.

Rikki Myers scored in the 25th minute on an assist from Madi Taylor. Taylor then scored on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.

"It's always good to get the W on the road," NNU coach Mary Trigg said. "We definitely struggled with our finishing, but we did a great job of being persistent and closing out the game."

The win is the second in a row after the Nighthawks (7-4-1 overall, 3-4-0 GNAC) had lost four in a row, as NNU earned three important points in the race for the postseason.

Chloe Sholtz made two saves in goal, as NNU dominated the action. The Nighthawks had 11 shots on goal and 19 shots overall.

NNU plays at Simon Fraser on Thursday and Western Washington on Saturday.
