BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team was swept by No. 6 Western Washington on Saturday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match.
The Vikings (17-3 overall, 12-0 GNAC) won the match 25-15, 25-13, 25-19 to send the Nighthawks (4-15, 4-8) to their third consecutive loss.
"We played well offensively in the third set and in the first set we played really well defensively," NNU coach
Doug English said. "They are really good and you can't mess up against them. When they have middles as good as they are it is tough."
Cami Heninger's 11 kills and 10 digs led NNU.
Abbey Blum added seven kills,
Megan Nelson had 14 assists and six digs,
Shayli Siegfreid had 12 digs and
Mckenzie Lee had 11 assists.
The Nighthawks return home to host Western Oregon on Thursday at Concordia on Saturday. Both matches begin at 7 p.m.
"We are doing the little things to get better, but we aren't good enough yet to beat that team," English said. "We have two winnable matches at home this week and if we play like we did tonight, we will be in position to have chances to win both."
