Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The Northwest Nazarene University women's soccer team defeated Montana State University Billings 3-1 this afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match in Billings.

The Crusaders improved to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in GNAC play with the victory that was highlighted by Anita Maryskova assisting on all three NNU goals.

"We played hard and moved the ball well," commented NNU head coach Mary Trigg.  "Anita was a great play-maker for us today and we really showed up today and played hard."

The NNU offense started early when Mabinty Kanu finished a header from three yards out after Maryskova's shot came off the crossbar in the 16th-minute.  It was Kanu's third goal of the season and allowed the Crusaders to take a 1-0 lead into the half.

Rikke Myers was the next recipient of a Maryskova assist in the 57th-minute when her shot from six yards scored after MSUB goalkeeper Erinn Harder saved Maryskova's offering, but the rebound found Myers for the tally.  It was Myers fourth goal of the year.

Just eight minutes later Maryskova was able to play a through ball past the defense, finding Emily Wilkins for her third goal of the campaign.  Wilkins took the pass and beat the goalkeeper in a 1v1 from 12 yards.

MSUB (1-7-1, 0-3-1 GNAC) scored the final goal of the afternoon in the 72nd-minute on a converted penalty kick by Alexa Iacolucci.  It was Iacolucci's fourth goal of the year.  The Yellowjackets fall to 1-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.

NNU will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Simon Fraser University.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Burnaby, B.C.
