SPU downs Crusaders 1-0 in Seattle

| By:
Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. – The Northwest Nazarene University women's soccer team fell 1-0 at Seattle Pacific University this afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Interbay Stadium.

"We battled today but couldn't quite get ahold of the game," commented NNU head coach Mary Trigg.  "A set piece was the difference in the game.  We are learning from it and moving forward."

The set piece came in the form of a corner kick in the 48th-minute when SPU's Maddie Sjothun served it into the box, finding Kasey Reeve for a header from 14-yards out.  It was her fifth goal of the season.  SPU improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in GNAC matches.

The Crusaders (5-3, 2-1 GNAC) offered a dangerous play in the final seconds, nearly drawing even when Cassandra Clarke's shot with 13-seconds to play was wide left, just missing the goal mouth.

The Falcons outshot the Crusaders 13-6 and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

NNU will travel to Montana State University Billings next Thursday and Simon Fraser University one week from today.
